2014 – a year of transformational change and new OASES wins for Commsoft

02/03/2015

For Commsoft, a world leader in aviation engineering and maintenance systems, 2014 was a year of transformational change which also saw a number of new organisations joining the international family of OASES users.

In addition to the introduction of a new OASES Servicedesk facility, significantly enhancing the customer experience, the company also mapped out its future software development in line with a ‘3 per year’ Formal Release philosophy. Deliveries under Formal Release 1 have already commenced.

Formulated in response to customer feedback, this philosophy is a reflection of the closeness with which Commsoft works with its customers in order to ensure the continual improvement of OASES. To further strengthen its customer relationships, the company also introduced regular OASES Bulletins which will form the basis of a new information push strategy designed to achieve greater transparency throughout the business in 2015.

Commsoft also enhanced its OASES hosting facilities to incorporate greater redundancy and deliver increased performance. This will provide even more affordable access to smaller aviation businesses with limited IT resources.

Over the course of 2014, Commsoft welcomed a number of new OASES users. FL Technics, who signed a 5 year, 20 concurrent user contract, is a global provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul solutions, serving customers from across Europe, the CIS and the Asia-Pacific region.

JetGo Australia, providers since 2012 of ad hoc charter and Fly In Fly Out services for major resource development projects, had traditionally contracted out its CAMO operations but brought them in-house for its RPT operations and has embedded OASES within its RPT approval applications.

3Green selected OASES to support Aerovista Group’s operations in the Middle East, Central Asia, CIS and Africa. Aerovista provides integrated aircraft leasing and management services for clients in fast-growing emerging markets and also operates FlyVista Georgia, a full service airline based in Tbilisi that conducts wet lease projects and charter operations in the Middle East and CIS regions.

AirExplore have signed a 5 year contract with Commsoft and will be using OASES to support its four Boeing 737-400s and a Boeing 737-800 which provide charter flights for holiday companies as well as additional capacity for other airlines on both short and long-term contracts.

OGMA, the Portuguese specialist aviation company, has signed a 4 concurrent users, 5 year contract to use OASES for its CAMO and engine support operations. Established in 1918, OGMA was 65% privatised in 2005 and is today a worldwide player in the aerospace MRO and manufacturing business, holding a wide range of approvals – Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) EASA Part M Subpart G and Subpart I, Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (MOA) EASA Part 145 and FAA Part 145 and Design Organisation Approval EASA Part 21 Subpart J.

Commsoft also extended contracts for the use of OASES with existing customers Vector Aircraft Services and Marshall Aerospace.

Nick Godwin, MD of Commsoft, commented: “2014 was a significant year for us. Some of the changes we introduced, including the new Formal Release programme, mark a new era in the history of Commsoft and OASES. We also saw the international family of OASES users growing still further and we look forward to working ever more closely with all of our customers throughout 2015 to ensure that the ongoing development of OASES is as responsive to their needs as can be.”
